As suas áreas de investigação incluem formação e desenvolvimento profissional de professores, profissionalismo docente e identidade profissional, currículo, avaliação e ensino superior. Tem mais de 200 publicações.
É coordenadora do grupo de investigação “Contextos, quotidianos e bem-estar da criança” no Centro de Investigação da Criança (CIEC) na Universidade do Minho, do qual faz parte como membro integrado.
É membro de várias associações científicas e pertence ao corpo editorial de várias revistas internacionais.
É diretora executiva da revista Teachers and Teaching Theory and Practice e co-diretora da revista European Journal of Teacher Education, duas das mais prestigiadas neste domínio.
Atualmente, é presidente da International Study Association on Teachers and Teaching (ISATT), coordenadora e membro fundador da Rede Internacional de Investigação-Ação Colaborativa (Estreiadiálogos) (www.estreiadialogos.com).

PROFESSOR AT THE INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MINHO
Her areas of research include teacher training and professional development, teacher professionalism and professional identity, curriculum, assessment and higher education. She has more than 200 publications.
She is the coordinator of the research group "Contexts, daily life and child welfare" at the Child Research Center (CIEC) at the University of Minho.
She is an executive director of the journal Teachers and Teaching Theory and Practice and co-director of the European Journal of Teacher Education magazine, two of the most prestigious in this field.
She is currently director of the International Study Association on Teachers and Teaching (ISATT) and has participated the International Council on Education for Teaching (ICET), headquartered in the USA, between 2011 and 2015.
She is also a founding member and coordinator of the International Research and Collaborative Action Network (Estreiadiálogos) (www.estreiadialogos.com). She, also, coordinated several research projects.
